Having previously blogged about the interior/design and first impressions about the Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant Sugarcane, I returned to give you a full review of the dining experience it offers its patrons. What I can tell you honestly is that the Sugarcane restaurant is 非常好吃 (very delicious).
My girlfriend and I returned to the restaurant to sample its cuisine and service. As we were the first time, we were kindly greeted by the hostess and were immediately shown to a vacant table, we were handed two menus and were told that we would be waited on shortly.
My girlfriend and I, being the overly exciting couple that we are, decided that we would play it safe (like we always do) and order off the menu things we have had before and really enjoyed. Thinking about it now, since we had never been here before, you could technically consider we were ordering items we never tasted before.
Sesame chicken, lo mien, fried rice, chicken wings and fingers and fried spring rolls is what was on the menu. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. When ordering in a Chinese restaurant you are usually never really waiting anymore than ten to fifteen minutes for your meal, Sugarcane performed the ten to fifteen minute wait without fail. Sugarcane’s food was incredibly delicious and was just the right size for my girlfriend and I to handle. Our meal conversation was filled with many “mmm this is really good, here try this.”
In the end, with its friendly service, and urban unique design, cleanliness and food, my girlfriend and I have officially labeled the Sugarcane Restaurant a place we are going to go back to. I urge everyone who is reading this to try out the Sugarcane located on 106 Main Street in Peabody.
